The opening of MTCP 2009 was officiated by Deputy Secretary General of Ministry of Information, Communication and Culture, Dato' Azmi Ali representing the Secretary General. The simple but colourful ceremony was attended by about 100 IPPTAR's staff and invited guest. The ceremony started with the arrival of Dato' Azmi, followed by the reciting of doa, MTCP 2008's video clip presentation and introduction of MTCP 2009's participants. Each particiapant was presented with the "bunga telor". After the ceremony, all VIP and participants gathered for group photo and then adjourned for lunch
